About Me

I've been doing photography as a hobby since I retired from teaching in 2021. I started by taking the year-long A Year With My Camera online course, which gave me a fantastic grounding in the technical side of taking photographs and also allowed me to meet lots of like-minded hobbyists in my area by agreeing to run the England: East Anglia sub-group. I've met other photographers by attending various workshops in the area and I now have quite a network of friends with whom I am able to share my passion.

I shoot with two cameras, an Olympus OM-D E-1 Mark III and an OM System OM-1. I have a selection of lenses, and am still learning how to use them properly - you never stop learning! I use ACDSee Ultimate 2025 for digital asset management and for developing and editing my photos. I also have DxO Pure RAW 4 for denoising images when I've used a high ISO setting.

I am hoping to start blogging about my photo journey once this website is up and running, and I hope you'll enjoy following along.

A Website in Creation

Genesis

My old website had existed for many years, but apart from hosting my annual Cristmas card to friends, served little purpose. It was lovingly created using Serif's WebPlus X8, however this was discontinued several years ago and I needed to create something responsive that would work on all devices to showcase my photography. So, I purchased WYSIWYG Web Builder 19 and am beginning to learn its capabilities as I slowly rebuild my online presence. Watch this space ...

January 2025

Countdown ...

I had given myself all of January to get a working prototype up and running, but decided to go live ten days ahead of my target date. The intention is to build a platform where I can share my photography journey and blog about it. It will serve both as a showcase and a diary.

Lift Off!

The site went live on 22 January, despite still being a work in progress. I hope to add many more galleries during February and start a blog page where I can talk about my photographic adventures.
